Here's ZYPHR KRYMSYN: The only lass in the SW galaxy (of mine) with no vowels in her name! *LOL*
Zyphyr was born on Thyrsus. Her mother, Phyra, took her off-planet after she was a few months old to Corellia. Phyra met and married a crack technician named Kragar. He worked for a while at the Corellian Engineering Corporation (the New Essential Guide to Weapons & Technology 2004), but now owns his own shop on Corellia called "The Fusioncutter." Because of his great skill he occasionally freelances for his former company and is also often hired out to do work for the Empire, bounty hunters, and other mercaneries - as long as they didn't ask any questions or give him too many details, just credits. When he is away on these projects, if need be, he leaves the store run by some of his loyal employees.
The only world Zyphyr ever knew was Corellia, and the only father she ever knew was Kragar. She followed him around and watched him work ever since she was a toddler.
But one evening, at the age of 12, she heard her parents arguing; something about her needing to know the truth. Phyra pointed out that Zyphyr didn’t have to know the truth because she only knew Kragar as her father, and she was a happy child, and that was good enough. Kragar, on the other hand, was saying he thought it did matter, because he loved Zyphyr like his own daughter. He reminded his wife that he had been adopted and was never told until he found out accidentally when he was 21. He was angry at his parents for the longest time, feeling betrayed because the truth was kept from him. He didn’t want Zyphyr to find out that way.
Zyphyr demanded, right then and there, for them to explain themselves. Her reluctant mother explained that Kragar was not her biological father. She had been married to a man who worked closely with Emperor Palpatine. He had told her he might be chosen for the great honour and position of an Imperial Guard. She had found out that she was pregnant, but didn't have the heart to tell him this. It turned out that she would never be able to tell him, because he was killed during a training exercise – or at least that was what she had been informed. There was no body, no funeral. Just a medal that mysteriously arrived in her deposit box with a datapad explaining the circumstance in which her father had died, as well as what appeared to be her father's will and testament. Pregnant and heartbroken, Phyra had just wanted to move on after Zyphyr was born, and, she explained, that was why they had moved. She felt torn about telling her daughter.
Zyphyr was glad her mother had told her, partially because she always secretly wondered... She didn’t look at all like her blonde, hazel-eyed mother, nor did she look like Kragar, who was dark-haired and grey-eyed. Of course she asked a million questions about her biological father. Her mother responded only by digging out of a closet a small box. Zyphyr opened it and saw the medal, an ornately gold inscribed with the phrase Faithful Servant of the Empire as well as a datapad. When she activated the screen, she beheld her father. She noted, with a wry grin, that he had a shock of curly red hair, like her.
The notes said, “If you are reading this, please forgive me, as will not be able to return home. This is my will and testiment. I just want to say to my wife, Phyra, that I am honoured and fortunate to have met you, and now I am honoured and fortunate to be Chosen to guard the life of our All-Powerful Emperor. I will always love you and will never forget you. And for whatever challenges lay ahead for you, may you greet them with your heart and mind and soul. I love you both, and I have arranged for my assets to become yours, as you will see in the additional data download. “
This changed Zyphyr’s direction in life, somewhat. She was still proud to be trained by her adoptive father, but she also at that point in her life began to seek out training in martial arts and meditation. She entered tournaments and competitions and far out-did those in the same disciplines she was versed in, even those several years her senior.
Eventually she decided to seek her fortune, making her parents proud. By the time she had turned twenty, she was as brilliant as Kragar with a technical kit and, Phyra stated simply that, her biological father would also be proud.

ARIA: More Beginnings & Star Wars Adventure Ideas
The characters were on a scouting mission, to get a feel for some strong, rough-and-tumble characters - to see if they were potential Alliance material or sympathizers.
They were assigned to Tattoine, and I had sent them a communique (sort of like a flyer) via email which described a yearly event ran by Hutts. The Hutts were all in competition to see how much money they could amass during these often illegal hunts and/or tests. On the flyer I printed out a little excerpt about the previous year's "Rancor Round-Up."
Every year the Hutts would stake out an area in the SW galaxy where there were next-to-no authorities (government, gaming, fishing or what-have-you). Usually they would pick a planet that was either extremely dense with jungle, extremely hot, extremely cold, or some other way to be 'extremely' something. The test was either gruelling, deadly, ridiculously insane... or all three. But who cares when you are desperate for credits, fame or if you have a death-wish? Contest rules were very strict and were watched on holo-vid & vid-screens via satellite. If a Hutt somewhere wasn't pleased about how things were unfolding or if game rules were being broken, usually the players' lives were forfeit. Characters & NPCS were only allowed certain types of weapons and restricted numbers of said weapons: an obscene amount of gambling goes on, so of course the stakes have to be high.
In this particular "Great Krayt Dragon Hunt" adventure, teams were either registered in groups of five or less, or could be drawn randomly to form groups of five. I made sure other famous NPCs were there as well, so to give the impression that it wasn't just the Alliance scouting out potential allies: bounty hunters, Imps, and a few other unsavory characters met there, possibly with agendas other than just dragon-hunting.
My players' characters were hooked up with Aria as about 20 years old: she said she needed the money and her plan was to use the credits and fame to get off-planet, possibly take up her father's trade. This was after both her parents died. She was an accomplished guide, and already survived an encounter with a Tusken Raider (she had his gaderffii, or gaffi stick, to prove it). She was the one who knew about all the wildlife (check The Wildlife of STAR WARS: A Field Guide; by Terryl Whitlatch & Bob Carrau).
On a separate adventure I ran: Aria's father was killed on a mission when his shipmates attacked a ship they didn't know was full of Imperials: their captain Rugar (Aqualish) just had a tip (from a supposedly reliable source) that there were some unusually large and rare crystals aboard. How were they to suspect it was one of several ships carrying crystals that were to be used in prototypes that used a very large and powerfully concentrated laser, originally planned for mining?
How were they to suspect that on this particular ship a kidnapped Mrlssi scientist was waiting to be rescued (the giant mining laser had been his brainchild) by the characters I was GMing for?
There was a lot of crossfire, and a certain Reissem Gunnir was gunned down shielding the life of his Honour-Sister, Charlebbekka (Wookiee). The characters I was running the game for witnessed this, but could do nothing about it. They had to save their own hides and the feathered tail of their scientist.
Charlebbekka was the one who had to break the news to Aria and her mother, Ariasha. Did I mention her mother had ties to the Mystril Shadowguards?
Aria's mother passed away from her mysterious debilitating illness soon after this incident (although, one would surmise that her broken heart complicated matters). Ariasha left a training jumpsuit that she had used when she was being trained as a young warrior-apprentice; some advice about running the other way if she ever heard the surname D'Asima; and some information (very little) about her past on Emberlene to her surviving daughter.
Incidentally, her mother had found someone (who called herself 'Shadow') to train her daughter since she was 12 in some of the combat skills of the Mystril Shadowguards (although Aria just thought they were generic skills, and had no clue about their significance). Now Aria wears replicas of her mother's clothing and, as a parting gift, Shadow ("If you ever need me, just ask for... Iyobhee" -pronounced /eye-yo-vee/) had given her a precious Zenji Needle.
The second Zenji Needle was found in a separate adventure, where she bought it from a young, inexperienced Jawa who mistook it for a pin-clasp for his robe. The third Needle was purchased in yet another adventure in an eclectic antique store. If you don't know the significance of Zenji Needles or Emberlene, check that out, as it's quite the storyline in itself.

KALLEN: AKA Auron: or serial batch # JF-NK*07*
A very rich young Moff inherited his title and assets from his equally wealthy father, Senator Kaine. Kallen was one of those assets.
Around the time of the Clone Wars, some of Kaine's intelligence informed him about a certain skilled Bounty Hunter who gave his DNA to some Kaminoan scientists.
Kaine had an infant son, but no wife, as Noran Kaine had been killed in an act of political vengeance during the slow atrophy of the Republic's Galactic Senate. He wanted a bodyguard, skilled and lethal as the Emperor's Crimson Guards. At the same time, however, before he died (of natural causes or otherwise) the senator wanted someone to establish a situation where someone would look after the welfare of his son. He persuaded the Kaminoan scientists to combine his wife's DNA with that of Jengo Fett's and procured ten samples.
Three of the ten samples were destroyed systematically as soon as XY chromosomes were detected; he didn't want males. He halted the development of six more "samples" at various ages as soon as something disatisfied him. For instance, he didn't want anything that reminded him of his wife - although beautiful, he felt she was also quite small and weak. A few clones didn't measure up to the constant rigorous physical or mental tests. The remaining three he kept.
The clones DNA was not as tampered with as the Clones of the Clone Wars. They had distinct personalities and enough independence to know when to act individually when the need arose. All three clones had been manufactured to grow and develop much more quickly, and by the time they were only about 8 years of age, they appeared as fully-developed female adults. Only once they hit the appearance and physical age of 18 did their DNA signal their growth slow down again.
The three were finally given names other than their serial batch numbers: Skarn # JF-NK*02*. , Danam # JF-NK*04*, and Kallen # JF-NK*07*. All three were outfitted in armour that disguised very well that they were female, even going so far as to alter their vocals to sound mechanically male. When Senator Kaine was home, he would take time to look after his son and train him in politics and tactical warfare. When he was away, the ladies would teach his son hand-to-hand combat and defence, as well as target practice.
If he was on a road trip he would take two of his bodyguards with him (although they weren't always in plain view), and leave one at home. He always rotated their roles, but only he could tell them apart. All three wore exactly the same armour and sounded exactly the same to everyone else.
As it happened, about twenty two years later Kaine was killed. Unfortunately it was his own bodyguards that did the deed. Danam had turned on him, having tired of his schemes of power and her restrictive life, and also jealous of her two sisters. Skarn had jumped to his defence, but not in time to defend him, and the two battled each other. However, Kallen had witnessed Danam's attack from a great distance and had noted Skarn's failure to defend him. Kallen killed both to avenge the only person she had known as her father and in disgust for their actions.
She then, she felt, finished training her half-brother and eventually he quickly rose to power. He's the youngest Moff in the fleet. For several years she watched him and was proud of him. He gave her a choice: "You can stay or you can go explore what's out there." He knew her life's work was his welfare, and was wise enough to realize that she ought to go and seek her own fortunes, lest he someday suffer the same fate (although he didn't exactly articulate this). He sent her out on missions on her own and eventually she came into her own employment as a hired Bounty Hunter or Merc (depending on the job).
Nobody was as good at a job than her.
Kallen wears heavily modified Stormtrooper armour: she had guantlets with an array of weaponry and climbing tools as well as a helmet by which she can verbally control her mechanical functions, such as her jetpack. She's deadly with any weapon, but her favourite is her blaster.
SEHVORIAH: You've heard of evil twins... How 'bout one who killed your father? Ever known anyone who had clawed guantlets (yep, like Wolverine) and a poison tipped-tail? Anyone you ever heard of (an uncle's neighbour's priest's cleaning lady's accountant's chiropractor's lawyer's sister-in-law's best friend's pedomatrist's dominatrix's vet's cousin, perhaps?) slice off her own arm to prevent getting poisoned? Better watch out - she might like you and then you'd have to worry about staying on her good side!
P.S> Leah has corrected me on my spelling of her name: Her name is spelled SEHVORIAH, my bad, but I haven't gotten round to correcting the drawing...

RAPTOR GASE: Aria met him on Tatooine, in one of her first adventures. He's been on several missions for the Alliance. Mysterious guy, hard to track. Likes to play it cool. Apparently he likes to disguise himself as a droid sometimes. One time someone tried to impersonate him, and that was a tough one to figure out... Got him into loads of trouble... With his own homies!
Mean Green Fightin' Machine... He mellows a little in the company of the other Alliance members, but high blood pressure would've killed him if he didn't. Aria and Karnic have a close relationship, but strangely enough, although we've mentioned it in our adventures, we never specifically got around to writing an actual background history based on this. "Oh, yeah, me and Karnic have been through some hard times..." We don't know which hard times, but we'll get it down later...
Timid, but resourceful... AUN'ARUCIA KI is a rare one. You don't see too many light-furred Bothans... Everyone needs someone to sneak around and get you into trouble? And the spynet can be very useful!
Our own "plucky comic relief:" Aun'A, has been frightened by her own reflection (it was in a dark ice cave, and she got so freaked out she fell and slid out of the cave, where our characters were all standing around looking at her like she was a nut). She's forgotten to taughten the repel gun on a descent, and almost plunged to her death. She tightened the clutch and smacked right into one of our characters, who was already beat up pretty good.
On a different adventure: Our ship had crashed on a planet called Trinta, and they were exploring the ship after the crash for salvage. Suddenly, for some reason, the ship started sinking further into the swamp. Our little Bothan lept up onto the back of her Reiget buddy - a big brute nicknamed BRUISER. (Leah was so excited, because she kept rolling 6s on her Wild Dice, but then the GM told her it was to damage Crovax with her claws. She felt pretty sheepish!) Poor Bruiser had a lot of little bandaids and OxySporon used up from his medpac that day.
Then there was the time she went to a bar with her group, looking for information (where else would they be). They were trying to blend into the whole local/tourist thing. In this adventure there was a problem with locals getting mugged, and to blend in our ladies in the group pretended that they were scared to walk back to their hotel alone. That's when they asked a couple of stormtroopers to walk with them. They heard a noise in the alley, (a distraction from members of our party) and that's when Aun'A tried to pick up a stormtrooper. She went right up to one and tried to snuggle up to one of them (failing miserably)! If a stormtrooper could look amused...
Speaking of bars, make sure Aun'A avoids buying drinks she is unfamiliar with. She saw someone drinking a drink called a Flame-Out, and she simply stated to the barkeep, "I'll have what he's having." After she swallowed that drink in one swig we had to carry her back to the hotel to recover!
Meet TOHRA, Triannii Ranger. She's classy and has one kick-ass retractable clawed medium-range melee weapon. She was on her way to great things... and then her twin sister showed up: Savoria. Way nastier, and not just because she's, um... sluttier. Savoria's just bad, through and through, and we're talkin' Dark Side bad, baby. The sisters had one hellova fight. Apparently sibling rivalry can be deadly... And that's how they becaaaame the Braaaady Buuuuunch!
The Falleen Connection: When Velexa was still on Falleen, her family was heavily involved with "National Security." Her mission was to meet with the head of the Trianii Rangers to discuss security tactics, namely Tohra. On her way to meet Tohra word reached her that the Empire destroyed Falleen. (According to the SW Encyclopedia: Ten years before the Battle of Endor, Darth Vader had established a biological warfare lab. A bacterium was accidentally released from quarantine. The entire city around the lab was "sterilized:" burned to the ground, to stop the spread of the incurable flesh-destroying disease. 200,000 Falleen were killed, including Velexa's entire family. Incidentally, a certain Prince Xizor also lost his family in this massacre).
After that, Velexa was devastated, and of course all thoughts of meeting Tohra were completely engulfed in grief and rage. Eventually, after some time recovering (somewhat), Velexa ended up going to another planet to continue her education, and that's when she joined the RA.
Tohra, meanwhile, arrived where the appointed meeting was supposed to be. She eventually attempted to contact Velexa, and it took several days before she found out what had actually happened. The felinoid was similarly shaken and fearful that a mere branch of government had destroyed an entire city, and assumed that Velexa had either perished or had to flee. She went back to Trian to find that her twin sister, Sehvoriah, had heard about the meeting that never happened and had turned everyone against Tohra. Tohra had tried to explain, but Sehvoriah was a sly one and had been setting her sister up for failure for years. No one believed Tohra, or they were afraid to admit it, or they were paid not to. That's when Tohra left in disgust and eventually joined the Rebel Alliance so she could lend her abilities to a cause that she was proud to enlist in.
VELEXA NAMOON: The sexiest Falleen this side of... Hell, who cares which side of where? Xizor's got nothin' on this one. Velexa's a loyal friend and comes in handy when you need a distraction, a right-hand man, a kick in the ass, or a good pistol-whipping.
The REIGET connection: Velexa met Crovax on a mission on REUSSI... The mission: infiltrate and get information on an illegal Cyborging operation. Crovax was in a "family" run by a human called Torel Vorne. If you wanted to be in this powerful cartel, to show allegiance you were pretty much expected to sacrifice a limb or "buy parts" to enhance your "weak biological frame." This was a ritual that many welcomed, to become part of the group. It was definitely something Vorne welcomed, but more because of how many credits it took to buy the equipment and get a med droid to do the operation free of charge. Crovax felt pretty much forced into the decision: if he backed out, it would mean he was disloyal, and if he was disloyal, it would mean he wouldn't be alive much longer. He needed the work and he needed a place to belong, as he was an outcast in his culture, so he felt he wouldn't have anywhere else to go anyway. He had waited a long time to become part of a larger purpose, but no opportunities had surfaced, so he was caught in his own circumstances.
There was an immediate attraction (the Force works in mysterious ways) between the Falleen and the Reiget, and after some discussion Velexa convinced Crovax to join them & he wouldn't have to sacrifice any limbs. From that point on, Crovax has been a valuable member of the Rebel Alliance, thanks to Velexa.
Crovax has also been training Velexa in the Force. She has a lightsaber with a yellow blade.
********* ********* ********* *********
Other notes:
Velexa met Luke Skywalker on one of her missions, which was probably a good thing. Velexa had a bit of a brush with the Dark Side when she attempted to kill someone who was imprisoned. Unfortunately at the time, Crocax had gone to visit his dying master, and wasn't able to help Velexa until he came back. She has a little monkey-like creature called Veshna, the species being Sanl'jek. It's a communal forest herbivore from a planet called Arzid in the Outer Rim Territories, where we were on a mission. We were all on our way to the inner-most jungles of the Macaab Forest, where giant mushrooms grew. Alliance Intelligence had sent word that the mushrooms contained a chemical that could be made into a serum to be used as an antidote against the Imperials' mind-altering drugs. On our way out we came upon a small sapient that was apparently set as bait by some brutish nastier, bigger sapients one could only describe as Tree Goblins. We got harrassed all night by those apish creatures. Veshna, as Velexa named her little pal, is a very intelligent creature, who seemed to possess some speech ability. It seems they had forged a very special friendship together, as Veshna refused to leave when it was time for Velexa to go, and they've been together ever since.
Velexa has a connection with Tohra, but they haven't actually met since the tragedy on Falleen in our adventures... yet.

JACE is my first male character, which is a bit of a challenge for me. My character is probably quite in touch with his feminine side (because I'm his subconsciousness)! *LOL* He's very polite, refined, noble, charming, educated, and reminds me a little of my husband David, actually (except Jace has one blue eye & one green eye). Jace has Jedi skills and very good languages ability; either is good for getting out of/into certain situations.
My buddies and my husband had a roleplay where we had to scale a cliff wall. David was Galaxy Master & Keith and Leah had female characters. Jace happened to be climbing first, and Chopra (Twi'lek) and Tohra (Trianni) started having a conversation about how nice Jace's butt was. It's an ongoing inside-joke now. I still get caught unawares once in a while, when one of our friend's characters comments on his cute @$$! Jacekkyn Khyrstik needs a tee-shirt: "This is not the ass you're looking for..." *ROTFLMAO*
Exiled Noble - Male/Human - 28 yrs - 6' - 190 lbs
Athletic build; blonde hair (usually styled spiky, with a braid off to the side), goatee; left eye green/right eye blue.
Wears inconspicuous, although custom-fit clothing; has some skills in archaic weaponry, some Jedi skills with a light saber and extensive knowledge, especially in languages. Very diplomatic, highly skilled in public relations.
Quotes:
“The Empire is darker and more far-reaching than outer space... Or so it seems. They will be swallowed up by their own darkness one day. On that day, the bright stars of the Rebellion will merge into one great Light to show us the way.”
HISTORY:
I remember details about Derilyn before the attack as though they still exist today, and I sometimes feel as if could go and visit there tomorrow. I was eight years old, on a trip with my mother, Ossanna. We were going to meet with some people on the other side of the planet on the continent where Dorrak was the largest city. We had come from Derilysa, my mother hoping to gather intelligence and information about the disappearance of her brother, my uncle, Senator Wuxod.
Ossanna was a city councillor of Derilysa, and my father, Bujal, was a minor Jedi who had stayed behind there in order to spearhead a related investigation. He and our wealthy extended family were all recognized as able adjudicators in justice and civic duties.
I remember watching Senator Wuxod, who had announced on a call-in holo-show that Palpatine had to be stopped, and Derilyn would not sit idly by and be bullied into submission by an upstart government. Many sympathetic callers responded, some outraged, others worried.
Soon after that broadcast, he disappeared.
When I asked Mother why she thought the Empire would take away her brother, she replied, “Because, Jace, he told the truth. Sometimes people who tell the truth are taken away, so lies and corruption will not be brought into the light. That is why the Empire is so dark. Darkness is for thieves and cut-throats.”
Just as we had touched down on Dorrak, we received an urgent call from my father on an emergency channel from his office.
“Ossonna, take Jace and get off this planet - NOW!”
“Bujal, why, wha -?”
“Ossonna!” He interrupted. “We’re being invaded by Imperials. No time to explain. Just go into hiding somewhere amongst the 14 moons of Sotipe. I’ll look for you there...”
My mother had tried to press for more explanations but my father’s communications went down. We didn’t know what had happened, we could only hope he would meet us soon.
We waited as instructed, the hours turning into days, but we could not stand not knowing. My mother did not cry in front of me, but I woke sometimes to hear her crying softly. At the time, I think I was too frightened to cry. All I knew at that age was anything that could make my mother cry was to be feared... And hated.
The dread in our hearts overwhelmed us and, after the third day, we ventured cautiously back to Derilyn.
On approach to the planet, we were appalled to find the entire globe flanked by Star Destroyers and TIE fighters. We could see the devastation of Paran from our vantage point, and feared the worst for my father. But somehow I got a feeling that everything was alright, and in my mind, unbidden, came my father’s face; a sad smile on his lips, but a determined spark in his eye. I saw all this, even as my mother frantically prepped us for hyperspace, trying to dodge a TIE fighter’s volley.
Mother took the fastest route out of the Elrood system that she felt was safest. We took the RIMMA TRADE ROUTE instead of the more used HYDIAN WAY and made a quick stop on SLUIS VAN to stock up on food and fuel.
I told my mother what I had seen and felt just before our abrupt departure.
She flung her arms around me and said through tears, “Your father is alive! Oh thank you for giving me his message! It gives us hope. We will go back someday, but for now... I have a plan for us...”
We eventually found a safe haven on Mrlsst. The inhabitants were peaceful and intelligent, and the planet was renowned for its universities and scientific studies. My mother raised me there, and encouraged me to take up languages as a specialty. I immediately saw the reasoning behind this. When you know a planet’s native tongue, it’s surely a diplomat’s dream - especially when you are rallying Rebel cells and resistance groups.
My mother hooked us up with the Alliance early on. She became a communications liaison with resistance groups on Derilyn. The last time I saw her was shortly after my eighteenth birthday. She was going on a mission; she was to be smuggled in a converted freighter with medicine and technology to sneak to the Derilytes.
She never came back, but Alliance spies informed me that she is still alive and surviving in Derilyn in a secret network of tunnels in the ruins of Paran - and my father is with her. I remind myself about the Jedi Code, as my father taught me.
I will not jeopardize the lives of my parents or the citizens of Derilyn by acting in a rashly vengeful manner. I will not let my anger turn me to the Dark Side. I will have friends and allies beside me when my planet is freed from oppression, and our cause will be a righteous one. I no longer fear my destiny, for I can change it. I realize that my purpose, at least in these times, is to rally forces and someday defeat the Empire. When that day comes, I hope and pray to see my parents' faces again.
I still get the occasional vision or dream, so I know my father struggles, but lives. I have been gathering knowledge. I listen to the reports from Derilyn when I can. I wait and bide my time. Some day I will return home to my parents and my people in full light of day, in front of all eyes, and I will celebrate with them all... on a peaceful day.
CROVAX "BRUISER" BRUMAXXIUM... The Force is with him... He helped us out on a mission on a creepy planet called Trinta. Aun'A (Bothan) had a hullucination that a flaming Rancor was chasing her. Velexa had a vision that she was cut in half by a Dark Jedi. Aria lost her mind and started screaming and singing because it was too quiet. Somehow our beloved Bruiser was the calm inside the storm and held us all together. Without him, we would've been gonzo, baby. That's why he got a medal for that adventure and the rest of us got meds.
Below you can read David's description of his character...
Description: Bald with blue and grey skin. Blue eyes. Very muscular. Bares a flame tattoo on his left shoulder. Usually wears a tunic.
“There is no emotion; there is peace. There is no ignorance; there is knowledge. There is no passion; there is serenity. There is no death; there is the Force.”
History:
The giant Reigat known as Crovax Brummaxxium was born and raised on the planet of Reigat. As a young lad “Bruiser” was immediately recognized by the Elders in his village as being the most athletically gifted, as well as having immense physical strength for his age. His nickname, “Bruiser”, was given to him by his mentor and former Smasher Ball Champion, Galf Zaffada.
Zaffada took Bruiser under his proverbial wing and showed the composed young Reigat how to drive the Smasher Ball through the impenetrable wall of his opponent’s defences. For 3 years, Bruiser made his presence felt in the arena. The young Reigat championed his way to the ultimate goal: a title match with his mentor, the Royal Champion at that time, Galf Zaffada. Crovax was only 13 standard years old at the time.
It was an outstanding match, but in the end the old mentor was victorious. His mix of wit, guile, and experience had won over Bruiser’s strength, heart, and determination. Bruiser took the loss like a true champion. He would not be denied the next year, however, as Bruiser bested Zaffada in the greatest match in Reigat history. At the age of 14 Crovax “Bruiser” Brumaxxium was the youngest Smasher Ball Champion ever!
A year later, when the rapidly growing Reigat had claimed every title, every honour, every championship that Smasher Ball had to offer, Galf Zaffada introduced Bruiser to Grand Master Olta of the Warrian clan. It would be a tremendous journey into the unknown for Bruiser. A full decade of intense training in the Martial Arts of K’thri.
After 10 years of physical and mental training under the tutelage of Grand Master Olta, Bruiser was instructed by his master to explore the realms of space. He was told to seek out new challenges and gain knowledge through the his trials and tribulations:
“For an empty soul their will always remain an empty heart, unless you fill them both up, like one writes with ink in a blank journal."These were Grand Master Olta's parting words to the towering Crovax.
After Bruiser left his home planet, he continued towards his mastery of the K’thri arts. He practised daily, faithful to his craft. Sometimes Bruiser would train for many hours, nonstop, expanding his knowledge of the proper techniques - as Grand Master Olta had shown him - using his great strength as a fierce weapon, or practising his defensive parrying skills.
One of the problems that Bruiser encountered while travelling from planet to planet, system to system, was that he was not overly proficient with mechanical and technical skills. This left Bruiser with few choices concerning which career path he was bound for. The most logical choice was to gravitate towards using his great strength and K’thri arts training in establishments that needed hired muscle. Bruiser excelled at these tasks, for it served as a challenge. It was a chance to meet strange new alien species, observe different cultures, and the pay wasn’t bad either.
I was having a glass of my favourite ale when he strolled into the Cantina on a especially hot, dry Tatooine evening. He seemed unafraid, chin held high, eyes calmly surveying the Cantina’s surroundings. Even then the boy wasThe first time I saw the kid, I was impressed by his physical size. A huge, muscular
lad with a fire burning in his steely eyes. But I soon learned that it was his cool under-pressure temperament that made me take a good, long, hard look at the

bald. Unusual for a Reigat I’d say.
He walked up to the bar surrounded by a menagerie of aliens and ordered a glass of water. That is when I noticed that the lad was completely unarmed; not a single weapon, unless you count the large back pack the boy was hefting. I watched in great interest as two blaster-wielding thugs starting harassing Big Blue.
“It is unwise boy,” the first thug boomed, “to come into Mos Eisley Cantina unarmed.”
“Unwise?” The Reigat replied smoothly in a low steady voice.
“Yeah punk,” the second thug said, pointing the barrel of a heavy blaster pistol under the boy’s blue chin.
“Either you’re the stupidest man in this here bar, or your species, whatever the
hell you are, think that just because your carrying a little extra muscle, you’re far superior than my friends here.”“I’m only going to tell you this one time,” the Reigat countered in a calm unaffected tone. “Remove your weapon from up under my chin - “
”Or you’ll do what?” The thug cut the boy off in unabated anger.
Let me tell you Jabba, the kid moved like a Tatooine sandstorm; fast, deadly, and utterly punishing. I can’t exactly explain it, 'cause it happened so fast, but the kid snapped the blaster- wielding thug’s arm off at the elbow - literally Jabba - ripped it right off... and the blaster was still clutched in the thug’s severed hand.
The second man threw a wicked roundhouse punch that looked like it was going to connect with Big Blue’s jaw. But the boy easily parried the blow, and in one smooth motion lifted the man off the floor by his throat and power-slammed him through a nearby table. Both men had little time to scream.
The boy didn’t even break the slightest bit of sweat, and as he downed the last remaining swallow of his water, he looked at the bar-keep and calmly said, “Sorry about the mess. I don’t have many credits left, probably not enough to pay for the damage here, so I’ll come by tomorrow evening and watch over the place for you, just in case things get out of hand.”
The barkeep dared not disagree.
This ends the written part of the conversation between Jabba the Hutt and the anonymous Bounty Hunter.
Jabba was impressed, real impressed, by what the Bounty Hunter had told him of this chance meeting with the young Reigat. After a few years Bouncing in the Mos Eisley Cantina, and keeping a close watch on the boy, Jabba thought it was time to give the kid a chance. A chance to prove his worth to Jabba the Hutt.

UMI ROM: Deconstructivist Extraordinaire! Want something blown up? She's your girl!
History:
Umi Rom was raised on Etti IV. Her father, Jakmon Rom, was a well-trained Epicanthix warrior who met her mother, Dalfni, while travelling via Etti IV.
Jakmon was overcome at the sight of Dalfni, and spontaneously decided he must have her for himself. He was oblivious to the fact that she saw him as an opportunity to make money for her to spend. He saw her as a way to elevate his own status, as well, and certainly didn't mind working to keep up with all the trappings of the proud, rich cultures they both enjoyed.
Both of Umi’s parents had many relatives working for the Empire, since collectively they all preferred paid labour to slave labour. A survival with dignity was foremost on their minds. Jakmon worked for pay as a mercenary and bounty hunter, Dalfni as “an horticultural consultant” (you don’t pronounce the 'h' in horticultural).
Jakmon would be away for weeks, and sometimes months. The longer he was away, usually the more credits he brought back with him. He was always entertaining at her parties by telling his amazing "three straight days in the rain on a platform 100 meters on a cliffside waiting to ambush a bounty" story, or the account of when he thought he was a goner when his target had a deadly trap set for him. "Most of the Rainforest Section in my wife's garden was paid for by the time I was hired to track an elusive band of Rebels on the planet of Fest."
Although at first Jakmon enjoyed the attention at the gatherings and tried everything to please his wife, Jakmon’s resentment to Dalfni’s greed eventually grew. It soon came to the point that, no matter how much money he brought in, or how many successful bounty hunting missions were accomplished, she always needed more money.
There was the extensive “garden acreage” she had to maintain (or pay to maintain: she directed several hundreds of "non-union labourors" on duties and care to keep her complicated, somewhat crowded, sprawling lanscape lush and well-groomed). "After all, it would be impossible to look after and nurture all of my strange and rare species of plants - some of which I acquired from clear across the other side of the galaxy - all by myself," she has been heard saying. "I have a rare semi-sentient strangle plants; I have plants that need to be fed plasma or they'll eat the gardeners; I have some plants that require planting into the ground on a very precise slope, on a very precise angle in relation to the sun... Did you know that I have a few plants in the Deciduous Section that I managed to order from Aldaran? Not too many of those are around anymore, you know."
Then there were all of her lavish parties she threw to impress new clients and companies regarding her skills with the plants and landscaping. She would invite travellers, high-ranking individuals, royalty and Imperial dignitaries and show them her rare flowers and beautiful arrangements. "I would recommend, for you Admiral, since the climate you live in is very dry, and the terrain rather rocky, to take some of these plants from the Desert Section of my garden. Of course I have a few gardeners that I could throw in with the deal, who are also suited for the terrain and conditions and know exactly how to look after them. You have my guarantee on that or you can do as you will with them. They are specialists in their field, however, and you understand there will be the extra cost of replacing them for me. However, I am sure you wouldn't want to waste time and expense on training someone yourself. Of course I would be more than willing to drop by for the first month or so to see how the plants and gardeners are getting on, for a little extra fee of course..."
The arguments about the money continued to escalate as the years went by; and when Umi was born, the two rarely agreed on how their daughter should be raised. Jakmon believed she was destined for “the profitable and honourable status of bounty hunter,” whereas Dalfni pushed her toward furthering her education to prepare her way for the ways of “transforming the sector.”
Her mother was much abashed at her daughter. She felt Umi took after her father more than her mother, in the way that she “stomped around,” and was mortified at how she looked so openly bored to tears during the many social events held at their expansive mansion.
Her father, on the other hand, was frequently dismayed with how she was “soft on people,” treating absolutely everyone and every race with respect and kindness. Neither parent took responsibility for her generosity, either (you don’t give things away!), and were quite embarrassed when she questioned the ways of the Empire.
Umi went with her father on several of his “missions,” learning about astrogation and other technical skills aboard their rented freighters and other transports.
Despite the fact that her mother felt young ladies should subject themselves to finer things in life, and not “get their hands dirty - unless they are gardening,” her daughter was extremely skilled at demolitions, a little trick she learned from her father. She enjoyed demolishing things, and to her mother's horror, Umi once blew up a nice-size crater right in the middle of a flowerbed. "Well, I was planning to fill that area in with something better anyway," was what her mother's response was.
Although she never shared her dreams with her parents, Umi felt that this early education with ships would help her get a job in engineering, or some kind of position as a mechanic - some means to escape the ever-present pressures of her parents’ disapproving eyes. Her mother had plenty of time to teach her how to associate and affiliate with other rich socialites when she got home and cleaned herself up.
Jakmon soon learned that his daughter was not impressed with his abilities of hunting down “dissidents of the Empire,” and was horrified to learn that she had spoken to several of his prisoners on different occasions. She constantly asked questions about why this prisoner was wanted, or why this one was worth more bounty than that one.
Soon Jakmon saw the admiration for in Umi’s eyes turn to disgust and repulsion at her father’s work. And no matter how he tried to explain how much money was involved, soon nothing placated her anymore. On their last mission together, a prisoner escaped. Jakmon suspected Umi, although never openly accused her, of sabotaging the ship. Jakmon noted that the wiring in the alarm system had been fused together somehow, allowing the escape. And his daughter couldn’t quite meet his gaze thereafter.
Jakmon expressed his disappointment at losing such a valuable bounty, "and probably to some other hunter who could track him down again."
“Is that all that’s important to you?” Umi asked. “The money? Isn’t the life you are turning over for torture - or worse - worth more than the money?”
She would accuse her mother about things as well. “You support the Empire by creating these stupid flowerbeds and landscapes, of all the petty things, “ Umi would shout. “What you don’t seem to realize is that you are being controlled by the Empire! Both of you! You work with them, under their control, because you are afraid of them. And you give people over to the Empire as though they were just a non-sentient piece of sod. You are no better than they are. Where is the dignity in that?!”
Eventually, Umi couldn’t stand the lifestyle her parents had bought into. And her parents were slowly drifting apart. Jakmon’s missions pulled him further away for longer amounts of time, and Dalfni seemed content with her lavish social events and continued her ever-flourishing career as a landscape consultant.
One day, Jakmon turned to Umi and looked into his daughter’s eyes. “Umi, you’re twenty years old, and we’ve raised as best we know how,” he said. “This is a decision you must make yourself. You choose. Stay here with us or go and seek your path elsewhere.”
Umi chose to leave that night. She didn’t tell her parents about her idea to join the Rebel Alliance, but they had a feeling she wouldn’t come back for a very long time, if ever.
The evening she had packed and was waiting for a transport to the docking bay, Jakmon came to see her off. Her father smiled, ruffled her hair and said sadly, “Maybe we’ll see each other again someday.” He removed his identification tags. “Here,” he said. He handed the chain to Umi. “You can give them back to me someday. May you find an honourable path that carries well in your heart.”
Her mother, who had stayed at home, was quite stoic about the entire event of Umi’s departure. “Do come and visit once you’ve gotten settled,” were the last words Dalfni spoke to her as her daughter had left.
Umi took her time in a few odd jobs, and thought about her future. After a while she decided on a compromise. She continued her education with ships and technology, recruiting herself to the tutelage of the Empire. She would find out for herself if her parents’ ideas about the great fleet had been based in fact.
Soon enough, she realized that she chaffed under the conformist and authoritarian nature of the Empire, just as she had with her parents’ ideals. Umi strengthened her convictions out about how cruel and deceitful the Empire was, since she had been on some minor missions and seen for herself.
She left with knowledge about TIE fighters and other mechanical weaponry. And she freed several of the prisoners her own father had captured. As she had planned, she eventually joined the Rebel Alliance, who had been hearing about her for quite some time (mostly from her father's escaped "acquisitions"). She wondered how high the price on her head would have to be before she saw her father again.
